It’s #BritishScienceWeek! 🔬🧪🧫 2020 marks 100 years since the creation of the ‘Research Laboratory’ at the Museum, so this year we’re celebrating the ground-breaking work our scientists have done over the last century. Scientist Dr Kate Fulcher has been investigating the ‘black goo’ found in ancient Egyptian coffins. Her research has revealed that this goo, which was ritually applied during funerals, was made up of plant oils, animal fat, beeswax and bitumen.
