Apple feast in Bratislava region

142

Apples will traditionally be the centre of attention in several towns and villages of the Bratislava region on the second weekend in October. The popular Apple Feast will start and it is literally a holiday for all lovers of this healthy fruit.

The event is a celebration of apples and products that can be made from them. From sweet and savoury cakes, through untraditional soups, compotes to apple cider. Visitors can also taste the freshly picked tasty apples from local growers.

For the first time, the Apple Feast was held in Modra in 2008. This idea came from the Little Carpathian Cultural Centre in Modra. In Modra, it is closely linked to country and folk music event called Jablkofest. And if you visit Modra, the manor house premises, in addition to apple treats, you can taste young wines all in the atmosphere of concert performers like Plamene, Vuur, Rolničky, Grunt, Prešporok, Červený bicykel, Druhý dych, Samorast and Mysami.

The event under the auspices of the Bratislava self-governing region takes place simultaneously on Saturday in the following towns and villages: Modra, Pezinok, Senec, Limbach, Svätý Jur, Dunajská Lužná, Jablonové. In Bratislava, visitors can enjoy apple treats in the city districts: Rača, Petržalka, Nové Mesto, Vajnory, Devínska Nová Ves and in the Fresh Market.

To wander through our apple region, you can use the Little Carpathian Express, which can take you to weekend events under the Little Carpathians every weekend. The tourist line runs three times a day, every Saturday and Sunday, and during public holidays on the route Bratislava – Budmerice through Svätý Jur, Pezinok, Vinosady, Modra, Dubová and Častá, with tours to Slovenský Grob, Zochova chata and Červený Kameň.
